Cyclingheroes: When did you join the Rabobank team?

Juan Antonio Flecha: "I joined Rabobank in 2006 after Fassa Bortolo stopped. So 2008 will be my third season with Rabobank.

Cyclingheroes: What is your main goal for this year?

Juan Antonio Flecha: Well my main goal always stay the same. Last year I was close at 'Het Volk' and 'Paris-Roubaix'. Well at Roubaix I wasn't so close...[Flecha finished second at both races]. The 'cobble' classics are my main goals. I focus on that. After that the Tour, but I am realistic. I know that I am a teammate of really good riders like Freire and Menchov. They can win so I have to work. So my goal for the rest of the season is to keep doing a good job for the team like I did last year.

Cyclingheroes: Did Rabobank change a lot this season?

Juan Antonio Flecha: There are no big changes but I think everybody knows that we have to work more together. To be more a team. We did a really good first training camp at the end of November. We all had fun and really enjoyed it. I think that it was a good start and we are looking forward to the new season. Maybe the big change is going to be that we will perform more as a team and maybe you will also see this in the races. We will work more together and help each other.

Cyclingheroes: Last year was a very difficult year for cycling. What do you hope for the future?

Juan Antonio Flecha: I just hope that people can enjoy this sport and enjoy the spectacle. I hope that people can enjoy watching cycling on tv, that they enjoy coming to the races - with no scandals, only sports.
