We landed in Australia on Friday morning at 09.00 am. We were all pretty knackered after the long flight. In return we became a warm welcome from the beautiful weather: Blue sky, sunny and about 30 degrees [celsius, editor]. The weather is absolutely great.

In the afternoon we went to eat something with the team and after that we trained for two hours. After our training ride we all started to feel the jet-lag. We were really tired and had to force ourselves to stay awake until at least 10 pm in order to come into the Australian rhythm.

This morning we woke up at 8 am and started our traing two hours later. You can ride really well here. We are staying in the city. By bike it takes 20 minutes to get to quiet streets with the mountains in front of you. During our training we rode a bit faster and di a couple of sprints because with tomorrows Tour Down Under Classic we already have our first race.

While my teammates have to fight against the heat, its an advantage for me as I was born in Australia. Maybe I can capitalize on that when the Tour Down Under kicks off at January 22.

Until tomorrow

Your Heinrich
