Today the day started much more relaxed as it usually does, because the stage started in the city center and we did not need a long transfer to get there. Therefor we came to business immediately. Attack after attack. I thought I was at the Tour de France again because all riders were straining at the leash to get into the breakaway of the day. Because of that the pace was extremly high. After about 30 kilometres the three men strong breakaway was finally formed.

The stage went along the sea. It was really nice and for me it was more pleasant as during the days before because there was more wind and not that hot anymore.

The numerous spectators along the road could see the Rabobank team leading the chase almost all day. Almost 20 kilometres before the finish the three escapees still had a lead of four minutes. All sprinter teams got a little bit nervous. They were chased by four teams and they were caught three kilometres before the line.

At todays final we found each other to some extend for the first time. But one kilometre before the finish we lost each other again in one of the many curves and rounabouts.  Thus we could not support Frösi [Robert Förster, editor] very well. But we have a few stages left where we can carry it off, yes even must. Maybe it already works out tomorrow

Cheers!

Your Heinrich
