After a one hour drive by bus to the city of departure of the second stage, the 168 kilomtres long stage started at 3 pm. Again we arrived on a highway and the attacks would soon begin. But tough luck, to many riders dull riders after yesterdays stage.  Nevertheless somebody was found who started the race by attacking so at last the bunch was calm again. With Cohen we were in a breakaway group as well. However we had such a strong tailwind that it was almost impossible for small breakaway groups to make a decisive move. For us it was important to take care that no one crashes and to save as much energy as possible for the final. The final saw as follows: There was a 10 kilometres long descent and after a turn we had to climb the final 10 kilometres. Due to the team of the overall leader it wasn't exactly a walk in the park and the final kilometres were tenacious like a chewing gum. With three kilometres to go the last escapees were caught and it looked like we would see another bunch sprint. Our best man at the moment, Rob, was able to achieve a top 20 result again..

For me [Tilo, editor] personally the stage was very hart because we had an average of 46 km/h and that this early in January. Apart from that things are going better for us, one gets used to the hard positioning fights in the bunch. After we finished we had to drive three hours by bus to our hotel, where we immediatley took a shower and have eaten something. We are all pretty tired now as its pretty late.

Until tomorrow
