Day 1: "4 minutes of pain today..."

My name is Jonathan Clarke and I ride for Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team.

Our goals for this week at California are obviously a stage win with our speedster Ivan Dominguez and looking for a great G.C position with our Tour man Ben Day. We have many other cards to play with a few other handy guys on our team, my big brother Hilton Clarke and Henk Vogels just to name a couple. I'm going to be lending a helping hand to all and maybe try to skip up the road when I can.

Back to that 4 minutes of pain today......... Both Day and Rollin put in a great effort and the rest of the team did with solid rides. For me, it was over before it started and as I crossed the line it felt like my lungs were in my throat.

Hopefully, tomorrow I have a stage win to talk about with any of our sprinters, Clarke, Vogels or Dominguez. I think it is time for bed as I need sleep. See ya soon.
