The Argentinean sprinter outsprinted Oscar Freire. The race was decided by a bunch sprint. It was Haedo's fourth win in this season.

"JJ [Haedo, editor] was a bit unsure to start with, whether he had the strength to do the sprint, because there were a couple of climbs halfway through the race. But after he'd done them the whole team stepped up and worked really hard for him," explained CSC sports director Dan Frost after the race and continued:

"Bradley McGee helped JJ to the sprint at the very end and when Rabobank entered the scene with Oscar Freire and Graeme Brown, JJ managed the last bit to perfection himself. We can definitely tell that Haedo has become stronger this year. I think he'll win a lot in 2008. And this also gives us a great morality boost ahead of Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia," concluded Frost.
