27.08.2008/ Sylvain Chavanel leads the French Cofidis team at the Vuelta a Espana. Chavanel had a strong season so far with wins in Belgium at the beginning of the season, a stage win in last months Tour de France, where he also was rewarded with the price for the most combatetive rider.

Sylvain Chavanel will be supported by David Moncoutier and Nick Nuyens. Chavanel will colour he Spanish stage race with his aggresive style of racing which brought him a stage win at this years Tour de France. Chavanel was also rewarded for being  the most combatetive rider at the French 3 week stage race.
 
Columbian rider Leonardo Duque is the man for the bunch sprints for the French team.
 
It will be the last grand tour for Sylvain Chavanel, next year the French rider will race with the Belgian Quickstep team. Nuyens will also leave Cofidis. The Belgian rider will join Rabobank in 2009.
