26.09.2007/ The mind boggling story about the fight of the return of Saul Raisin is a must-read. A book review.

In 2006, Credit Agricole's Saul Raisin was on his way to an impressive cycling career when a crash at the French stage race Circuit de la Sarthe sent him into a coma, Raisin became emergency brain surgery.

Saul Raisin is back, earlier this month he started at the US national time trial championships. Tour de Life is about his fight to come back, about never giving up and a new life.

Saul Raisin and co-author Dave Shields give the reader an impression of what happened in the French hospital during the first weeks after Raisin crashed. Raisin's parents Jim and Yvonne Raisin were on an rollercoaster of feelings, the French doctors were convinced Raisin would never walk again. But with the support of his parents, Raisin started his fight to come back.

After nearly a month in a French hospital, Raisin returns to the USA where he being is treated in the Sheperd Center. After Raisin googled his name it not only becomes clear to him what exactly happened but also how severe is injuries are. But the 23 year old is still determined to beat his biggest opponent ever. Ofcourse there are setbacks but during his fight Saul Raisin transforms into a man.
