Cyclingheroes: Are you satisfied with the past season?
Bernhard Rassinger: We are very satisfied with the past season. It was the most succesful season in
the history of the team.
Cyclingheroes: In 2008 Björn Thurau will race with Elk Haus Simplon. What do you expect of him?
Bernhard Rassinger: He is still very young. We will slowly prepare him for international tasks.
Totally without pressure and stress.
Cyclingheroes: Who are the other new signings for 2008?
Bernhard Rassinger: We signed Björn Thurau, Steffen Radochla, Gerhard Trampusch and Daniel Schorn.
Schorn is the best Austrian U23 rider.
Cyclingheroes: The team is hoping for a wildcard for the Giro d'Italia. What do you think about
the chances that we will see Elk at the Giro?
Bernhard Rassinger: It won't be easy with the Giro. A desicion will be taken in the coming
days. It would be great to participate but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work out.
Cyclingheroes: Can you tell us something about Elk Haus Simplon's race programm in the upcoming
season?
Bernhard Rassinger: We start our season at January 13 with the training camps. A part of the
team will train at Mallorca. The rest of the team will train at Gran Canaria. The first race will be the Etoile de Besseges
from February 6 until February 10. After that we will start at the Tour Méditerranéen, which
takes place from February 13 until February 17. From February 26 until February 29 we will start at the Giro di Sardegna and
at March 1 we will start at Het Volk. Our goal in the Tour of Austria and to start at the Tour of Germany, which surely will
make a sidetrip to Austria.
