Venezuelan rider Anthony Brea is known for his strength on flat races and todaay he showed why. The Gobernación
de Apure-Indeportes Paez rider won the bunch sprint in Santa Barbara of todays second stage of the Vuelta
Al Tachira.
The second stage started in Guasdualito, capital of the Paez
municipality, Apure state of Barinas and finiseh in Santa Barbara, about 750 kilometres southwest of Caracas.
Stage winner Brea needed 4 hours 23 minutes and 51 seconds, it was a double
victory for the Venzuelan Gobernación de Apure-Indeportes Paez team: Brea's teammate Julio Herrera came in second. Pedro
Perez of the national Cuban team came in third and yesterdays stage winner Arthur Garcia (Kino Tachira) came in
fourth.
Dutch rider Malaya van Ruitenbeek publishes a daily diary for our website during the Vuelta Al Tachira. Van Ruitenbeek came in 82nd, 14 minutes and 58 seconds behind stage winner Brea. We don't know yet what happened with Van
Ruitenbeek.
