Pedro Perez of the Cuban national team, won the third stage of the Vuelta Al Tachira. The stage started in Santa Barbara
and finished after 105 kilometres in Ciudad Bolivia.
Perez
won the nunch sprint after 2 hours, 32 minutes and 38 seconds, Arthur Garcia (Kino Tachira) came in second, Patrick Kos
(Dutch National Team)grapped the third spot, Mauritius Frazer (Argentina) came in fourth and yesterdays stage
winner Anthony Brea (Alcaldía Bolivariana de Páez) came in fifth, all with the same time.
The stage was marked by an attack of riders of the Kino Tachira squad,
led by Jhon Navas, who won three intermediate sprints in the third stage and was awarded as the most combative rider
throughout the race.
The fourth
stage will start at the town of Ciudad Bolivia, about 740 kilometres southwest of Caracas. After 138 kilometres
the riders will arrive in ciudad de Barinitas.
Dutch rider Malaya van Ruitenbeek publishes a daily diary for our website during the Vuelta Al Tachira. Van Ruitenbeek came in 66th, and finished in the same time as stage winner Peréz.
