Vuelta Al Tachira: Medina takes ITT

16.01.2008/ Race leader Manuel 'El Gato' Medina extended his overall lead by winning todays individual time trial. It seems that nothing can stop the Venezuelan rider from winning his second Vuelta Al Tachira.

Todays Eleventh stage was a hilly individual time trial of 24.1 kilometres between Lobatera and Michelena. Manuel Medina (Gobernación Zulia) clocked the fastest time. Medina needed 39 minutes and 8 seconds for the difficult stage. José Chacon (Lotería Táchira) came in second, 19 seconds behind Medina. Carlos Galvíz(Alcaldía Bolivariana Páez) came in third, 37 seonds behind the stage winner. All other riders were 1 minute or more behind Medina.

The race leader dominates this years Vuelta Al Tachira and its expected that nothing can stop him to win the overall of this years edition. Medina also won the race in 2006.
