Today we were really lucky with the weather again. Actually the weatherforecast predicted rain but we were happy that the sun was shining. It wasn’t as hot as it was yesterday but still comfortable. We, and all other teams, are staying at the Adelaide Hilton hotel – a superb hotel. Australians are pretty loose and very friendly. Its nice to be in Australia again.

We had breakfast at 8 o'clock and afterwards we trained for two hours to speed up our heart rate. At 4 pm we went to the race and the team presentation. The Down Under Classic crit was 50 km long, altogether we had to ride 25 laps. The spectators were really cool today. There were approximately 100.000 spectators along the road.

Right from the start it was pedal to the metal. There were 4 intermediate sprints to determine the classification jersey's for the Tour. I even won one of the sprints and by doing that I secured a classification jersey for the start of the Tour [Down Under, editor]. I felt really good and I hope I will even get better.

The final was a bit nervous. Originally we wanted to ride for Frösi [nickname of teammate Robert Fröster, editor] but he said I should go for my own chances. Paco Wrolich was present in the final too. Because of the high speed and many curves it was really difficult to stay at the front. The final lap was brutally hectic and I was to far behind. But Paco Wrolich was at the front and came in tenth. The stage was won by Andre Greipel.

After the race I was allowed to the ceremony. There also: thousands of spectators and a fantastic atmosphere. It was really fun. At 9 pm we came back in the hotel. We have eaten something and soon I will go to sleep.

Until tomorrow

Your Heinrich
