First of all I am sorry that I didn't report after yesterdays stage. I am still suffering a bit from the jet-lag and have
fallen asleep very early. That's why my report of the second stage is published today..
The second stage was very easy at the beginning. Again three riders broke off, the peloton could live very well with it.
We rode through a beautiful landscape yesterday. It was very beautiful to ride through the vineyards.
The three escapees were already caught with 25 kilometres to go. After that there were lots of attacks. Yesterday final
was hectic again and unfortunately Frösi [Robert Förster, editor] had a puncture in the final kilometre. Nevertheless pilot
Paco Wrolich found me quickly. He wanted to start 400 meters before the finish line but unfortunately he was jostled by
another rider and then it was all over. When you have to take out at such high speed you can't intervene in the decision anymore.
After the race we had to ride 40 kilometres back to the hotel - not by bus but by bike. I will be back later [today, editor]
to report about the third stage.
See you later!
Your Heinrich
