Day 5 Riders Diary Tilo Schüler and Philipp Mamos

25.01.2008/ German riders Philipp Mamos and Til Schüler will publish a riders diary at our website during the 2008 Tour de San Luis. The riders of the German Sparkasse squad will report regularly from Argentina. Today day 5: "ITT with terrible diarrhoea."

Today we had the 20 kilometres long time trail on our schedule, which you also could see as a half restday. For Schilli and Rob it was about a possible improvement in the overall, for the rest of the team it was only about getting through. The 20 kilometres long course was, as expected, on a highway. Because it was raining since yesterday evening and then the whole morning we did not expect to ride a 'dry' time trail. Exact to the start of the first rider the sun started to shine and we had beautiful weather during the afternoon, that we used to collect a few training kilometres.

My [Tilo, editor] personal goal was to stay in the grace period and to get a grip on my terrible diarrhoea which I became yesterday evening.

Tomorrow will be the hardest day of this Tour. The stage has a lot of mountains and will finish on a category 1 climb.
