19.08.2006/ Why does Jan Ullrich keep silent? Why doesn't he defend himself against doping allegations? Why doesn't he just appear on tv to clear the suspicion?

Many a fan must have deliberated over this during the last weeks. To do so he would have to know what exactly he is accused of, answeres Ullrich's manager Wolfgang Strohband in an interview with German daily Bild. Only then could he get this knowledge if he was able to work over the documents completely. Right now this hasn't been the case it appears. “We received some documents this week”, says Strohband. “Yet we are in doubt about their completeness, coherence and authenticity.” Speculates Strohband: “As the Swiss federation obviously has the same doubts, they haven't opened a case yet.” “Right now neither in Spain nor at the Swiss federation a case has been opened against Jan Ullrich,” stresses Strohband. Asked whether Ullrich will ride again for T-Moble next year, Strohband replied “Maybe in his next life.”
