Belgian Daily news 'Het Laatste Nieuws' reported today that Quickstep's Tom Boonen tested positive for cocain during an out of competition control on May 25th.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws Belgian police planned raids in the houses of Boonen's parents in Postel (Belgium) and Boonen's girlfriend Lore in Meerhout (also in Belgium).

Its not the first time that Boonen's name is connected with the drug. Last year a friend of Boonen, cross rider Tom Vanoppen claimed that Boonen was his dealer. Later Vanoppen denied that he had said so.

Last week Boonen lost his drivers license for the second time in six weeks, after the winner of this years Paris - Roubaix drove 180km/h where only 90km/h was allowed. Boonen had to undergo an alcohol test by Belgian policeafter his offense and Belgian police said that Boonen drunk to much alcohol on that evening.

Until now the news about Boonen's positive test is not confirmed by anti- doping and state authorities.
