26.06.2008/ CSC - Saxo bank's Fabian Cancellara won the Swiss National Time Trial Championship on Wednesday. It was the fifth national time trial title in a row and his sixth national title in seven years for the winner of last years prologue of 'La Grande Boucle'.

"I'm still exhausted but I still gave everything I had today. It's my club, which has organized the race and I really enjoy “going back to basics" and participating here without sports directors, mechanics, soigneurs or anyone else. I think it's quite healthy for us pros to come home and rediscover our roots a bit," explained Cancellara after the race.

"Now I need to recover in time for Tour de France. My form is exactly where it should be but I really need to rest for a while. This is why I'm not one hundred percent sure if I'll be doing the road race on Sunday. I'll decide for sure on Saturday," said Cancellara.

Cancellara crossed the finish line one minute and 37 seconds ahead of number two after the 44-kilometer route.

In Team CSC Saxo Bank Official Fan Club you can hear interviews with Fabian Cancellara from after the time trial championship and you can hear Cancellara talk about his victories in Tour de Suisse and his expectations for the Tour de France.
