Floyd Landis tested positive for testosterone after the Tour de France in 2006. The US rider won the 2006 edition of the
French 3 week stage race, but lost his title again after a long legal battle following his positive test.
Landis is suspended from racing until January 2009 and might sign with Rock Racing. Tyler Hamilton has welcomed Floyd Landis
to join his American Rock Racing team, once his ban from competition ends. Hamilton told Belgian daily news 'Het Laatste Nieuws':
"Floyd is welcome to join us immediately."
Hamilton served a 2 year ban for blood doping himself before joining the US continental squad. The 37 year old said: "I
know what he is going through, we can help him return to the top."
In a reaction Rock Racing team owner Michael Ball said: "At this juncture, I have not made any decisions regarding
the 2009 Rock Racing roster. If – or when – Floyd Landis returns to racing, I hope people recognize that he has
served his time and should be given the opportunity to showcase the talent that made him one of the world’s top bike
racers. He has a right to continue to make a living in his chosen profession."
