15.08.2008/The organisers of the Race Across America announced the dates and location for RAAM 2009 and the Race Across the West, RAW 2009. As in 2008, the RAAM will begin in Oceanside, California and conclude in Annapolis, Maryland.

RAAM Start dates are:
Solo Women's:                Tuesday, June 16th, 2009, 12 noon
60+ Men's Solo:              Tuesday, June 16th, 2009, 12 noon
Solo RAAM Men's:           Wednesday, June 17th, 2009, 12 noon
Team RAAM:                  Saturday, June 20th, 2009, 2 pm
 
All divisions of the Race Across the West, RAW, will start in Oceanside, California on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at 12 noon with the Solo Men's start of RAAM.
 
The mid week start for soloists has been implemented to enable most solo riders and team racers in RAAM to finish over the weekend of June 27th, 2008 in Annapolis, MD. RAW will conclude in Taos, New Mexico on the weekend of June 20th, 2009

Finish line Celebration Banquets will be held Saturday June 27, Sunday June 28th, Monday June 29th for RAAM.

RAAM Rider registrations will go on sale August 25th, 2008 exclusively at:  www.raceacrossamerica.org

After the success and ridership levels of the 2008 RAAM, the race organisation stated "it is anticipated that 2009 RAAM will be the largest and most highly contested RAAM in history. There are a limited number of rider registrations available, please reserve early to avoid disappointment. Rider Registration fees to be announced soon."
