Rabobank team 2006

The official team presentation of the protour Rabobank team took place in Rotterdam. One of the new riders is Juan Antonio Flecha who came from Fassa Bortolo. At the beginning of the presentatio it was anounced that Thmoas Dekker extended his contract untill the end of 2007 and that Erik Dekker (no family..) will stop racing after the 2006 season. Erik wil join the management team and take over the position of former Dutch Tour de France winner (1980) Joop Zoetemelk.
 
Dennis Mentsjov and Michael rasmussen will concentrate  on the Tour de France and Michael Boogerd, Erik Dekker and Juan Antonio Flecha will concentrate on the Belgium and Dutch classics.
 
Marc de Maar is also new and is after Thomas Dekker, Pieter Weening, Joost Posthuma one of the many riders who where trained by the Rabobank youth team.

Intresting was that hundreds of kids could ride on BMX- and Trackbikes after the presentation and the riders of the protour team gave autographes. The kids where from various schools and amateur youth teams.
