Bertagnolli Wins Trofeo Melinda

24.08.2008/ Leonardo Bertagnolli (Liquigas) won yesterday's Trofeo Melinda. Bertagnolli won the uphill sprint of a 25-man group, beating Stefano Garzelli (Acqua&Sapone) and Mauro Finetto (CSF-Navigare).

On Saturday Leonardo Bertagnolli (Liquigas), born in Fondo (Italy), where the Trofeo Melinda finishes, won the 17th edition of the race,confirming to be one of the strongest riders in the peloton at the moment. Bertagnolli won the uphill sprint of a 25-man group, beating Stefano Garzelli (Acqua&Sapone) and Mauro Finetto (CSF-Navigare).

The Italian one-day race was the first race for Barloworld's Mauricio Soler, more than a month after being forced to withdrawal at the Tour de France.
