Yesterday's afternoon Managing Director and Team Manager of Liquigas Sport spa, Roberto Amadio, reached an agreement with the attorney of the two riders, Claudio Pasqualin. The contract was signed last night in Gazzada, Varese, where the training camp of the National team is being held.

Filippo Pozzato, who is 25 years old and has collected 28 victories as a pro, is a member of the Italian team to race next Sunday's road race of the World Championship of Salzburg.

"I'm sure my choice is the best: I want to hit the most prestigious goals in the Liquigas Team," said Pozzato, the winner of the last Milan - Sanremo.

In Roberto Amadio's opinion: "Pozzato is much more than a promising rider. Judging from the wins he claimed in seven years as a pro and the excellent performances of the last months, I think we have cause for great expectations. I'm sure Pozzato, supported by faithful Trenti, will find in our team the final seal on his talent."
