Alberto Contador will be supported by a strong squad to achieve his main goal of this season. After winning last years Tour de France and this years Giro d'Italia, Contador wants
to win the Vuelta a Espana. Two times Tour de France runner-up (2004 and 2006)
Andreas Klöden and Levi Leipheimer will be Contador's super domestiques.
"It would be a historic success," Contador said. "I understand that people are enthousiastic [In Spain its THE hot item
at the moment, editor] of this possibility and are already sure I will win the Vuelta. But well... they are not the ones that
have to pedal," Contador added.
After French riders Jacques Anquetil and Bernard Hinault, Belgian rider Eddy Merckx and the Italian rider Felice
Gimondi, Contador could become the fifth rider who has won all 3 grand tours.
Contador is highly motivated to achieve his goal, especially after Tour de France organiser ASO did not invite his Astana
team for this years edition of the French 3 week stage race and refused to let Contador defend his overall title.
