Gilbert: "Zürich Metzgete suits me"
In an interview with Belgian daily "La Dernière Heure", FD Jeux rider Philippe
Gilbert stated: "Zürich Metzgete suits me." Gilbert had a very succesful season winning Omloop Het Volk, GP de
Wallonnie and stagewins in the Eneco-Tour and the Dauphiné Liberé and wants to go for a great result on Sundays Zürich Metzgete.
After Valverde announced that he wouldn't start in Zürich, Alexander vinokourov and Andrej Kashechin also announced they
won't start. Serge Baquet (Quickstep) won't start because of a virus-infection. But still the race will have a strong starting
field with titel defender and fresh world champion Paolo Bettini, Michael Boogerd, Frank Schleck, Samuel Sanchez, Alessandro
Ballan, Danilo Di Luca, Steffen Wesemann, Cadel Evans and Philippe Gilbert are just some of the names who we could see on
the podium in Zürich. For Swiss Gerolsteiner rider Sven Montgommery it will be the last race of his career. Montogommery suffered
many injuries in the last couple of years and decided to retire after Zürich Metzgete.

Anders Lund Turns Pro at Team CSC
Danish rider Anders Lund is joining Team CSC next season as a professional
rider. The 21-year-old Dane is considered one of the biggest talents in his generation.
"It's a dream come true for
me and I'm extremely happy to have signed with Team CSC. I'm really looking forward to turning pro and starting that particular
part of my career. Getting a contract with Team CSC has been my goal all along, and now when it's finally happened I'm of
course very proud and relieved that it's all worked out," said Anders Lund, who took a silver medal last year at the Junior
World Championships.
"We've had our eye on Anders for a long time and signing with him was only natural. He's a great
talent, who has the potential to become a brilliant rider. He has impressed when he's been at our training camps, and his
results as an amateur show that he's the winning type. It will be exciting to follow Anders over the next few years, and I
predict him a great career as a pro rider," said Bjarne Riis.
