16.08.2007/ As was to be expected, stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos (Burgos-Aranda de Duero, 158 kilometres)

Having opened a gap of up to 40 minutes, Frenchman Aurélien Passeron (Aqua & Sapone) was the first to cross the finish
line, followed by Aivaras Baranauskas (Agritubel) and Belgian Tom Stubbe (Chocolade Jacques-Topsport Vlaanderen), who were
part of the breakaway making it till the finish. The peloton, where all favourites were riding, came in 54 seconds after Passeron.
Therefore, no big changes have occurred in the general classification: Mauricio Soler (Barloworld) is still in the lead, and
Saunier Duval´s José Ángel Gómez Marchante is only 17 seconds behind. Tomorrow, stage 4 will be a 15-km ITT in Roa; it will
surely be a decisive stage.
