02.09.2007/ Levi Leipheimer won the US national championships today. Defending champion George Hincapie came in second.

Levi Leipheimer (Discovery Channel) won the US national championships road race today. Leipheimer attacked on the final climb, Paris Mountain. A chasing group with Leipheimer's teammate George Hincapie, Fred Rodriguez (Predictor-Lotto), Niel Shirley (Jittery Joe's) and Danny Pate (Slipstream) tried to catch the number 3 of this years Tour de France but Leipheimer won the race after his furious solo ride. Defending champion George Hincapie came in second.
