The 145-kilometer second stage of Drei Länder Tour with start and finish in Lollar turned out to be quite
decisive for the overall standings.
Rabobank's Thomas Dekker won the stage and took the overall lead as well, while CSC's Jens Voigt advanced
to an overall second place after a fourth place in the stage. Michael Boogerd (Rabobank) came in third and is also third in
the overall. Fränk Schleck is fourth overall.
Thomas Dekker wrote a mobile message after the stage saying: "The best were at the front. Good feeling before
the worlds! Now I have to see if I can win this Tour!"
"It was a good day for us today. The deciding moment between Voigt and Dekker will probably be the time trial
on Saturday – so that will be very exciting, I think. Michael Boogerd might have a chance as well, but then tomorrow
is another day, so we'll have to wait and see," said Team CSC's sports director Scott Sunderland.
Voigt is eight seconds
behind Dekker and Boogerd and Schleck are only one and two seconds behind Voigt, so the bonus seconds might well end up deciding
the race.
