Ullrich: More confusion from Swiss Cycling
According to German-based website "Radsport-Aktiv.de" Bernhard Welten, who is the prosecuter handling the
Ullrich case for the Swiss Olympic anti-doping authorities, claimed that the rule of the Madrid court saying that the Puerto
documents cannot be used for disciplinary action against riders who are allegedly linked to the Puerto scandal does not apply
to Swiss Olympic's case against Jan Ullrich. Welten told Radsport-Aktiv that the court order was valid for goverment bodies
but not for sports bodies. The statement is again confusing since the court order from Madrid does in fact state that sport
bodies are not allowed to use the documents in order to take disciplinary action against riders. The court order also states
that the UCI and their federations will not recieve additional documents since the Madrid court does not consider the UCI
a party in the case against Fuentes. Welten however told "Radsport-Aktiv.de" that he is waiting for additional documents concerning
the case while Swiss Cycling confirmed that the Swiss federation intends to continue their case against Ullrich.
A spokesman of the German cycling federation considered it impossible for Ullrich to be licensed by the German
federation.
Honour for Erik Zabel
Today Erik Zabel was granted a very special honour. In his adopted home Unna, the 36 year-old was awarded
the „Eisener Reinoldus 2006“ by the press association Ruhr Dortmund/Kreis Unna (Germany).
The German
Milram rider was elected due to his competent and ready witted treatment of journalists. The laudation in the town hall
in Unna was held by Zabel’s longtime team- and room-mate and new T-Mobile sports director Rolf Aldag.

Puerto: Spanish cycling federation didn't take a decision yet
According to US based website "velonews.com" the Spanish cycling federation didn't take a decision about wether
they open disciplinary cases against about 40 Spanish riders who are allegedly linked with "Operacion Puerto" during a meeting
this week.
It's expected that it will take at least another week before the Spanish fedeartion will decide to drop charges or open
cases against their riders.
