According to state prosecuter Fred Apostel,
the bloodbags labeled "Jan", "Nummer 1" and "Rudis Sohn"which were seized by Spanish Guardia Civil on May 23, 2006 belong
"beyond doubt" to Jan Ullrich.
"We found nine blood bags which we could match with DNA samples. In
the process we could identify Ullrich." Apostel told German tv station N-TV.
Johan Schwenn, lawyer of Jan Ullrich said about the latest news: "The defense will examine the report of
the Bundeskriminalamt [Federal Office of Criminal Investigation] very carefully. After the irregularities during the
Spanish proceedings and at the UCI it is very well possible that the alleged findings are the result of manipulation. Anyway
there is no reason to change anyhting of Jan Ullrich's line of defence."
As reported already last year, the head of the Puerto investigation, Guardia Civil Lieutenant Enrique Gomez and other Spanish officials
are accused of falsifying Puerto documents and other irregularities during the investigation.
