According to German tabloid "Bild", Jan Ullrich wants to win the 2007 edition of the Tour de France. Ullrich told "Bild": I take it that in 2007 all issues will be clarified and that i can attack. I am a fighter and when i start i will fight for victory. That's for sure!"

Ullrich's mentor Rudy Pevenage added: "Jan can win. Three time trials, two of them pretty long ones, they are made for him. If he starts he will be one of the super favourites."

Although the managers of several Pro-Tour teams told reporters yesterday that Ullrich and Basso had to give DNA probes in order to compare those with the confiscated bloodbags of the Fuentes case, this seems to get very difficult as the Spanish based website "todociclismo.com" reported yesterday that the court of Madrid won't allow the use of the bloodbags for DNA comparison.

In an interview with German cycling magazine "Tour", new Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme doesn't rule out that Jan Ullrich might start in the Tour de France. Prudhomme was asked if Ullrich would ever take part in the Tour de France again, Prudhomme answered that he couldn't comment on the state of the investigation.
