Are the tables turning? According to Austrian expert on sport justice Herwig Hasslacher Jan Ullrich might well sue for
damages. "If the investigations are stopped one should immediately examine who has set the ball rolling", Hasslacher said
to sport1.at. "Should this have been arbitrarily and without proper legal basis and information Ullrich might sue for damages".
Yet the sport1.at quotes sources close to the German that Ullrich does not want to make a fuss and cause bad blood about the
whole affair.
"This is first-rate prejudgement", said Hasslacher, who has appeared for Austrian coach Walter Mayer and the Austrian
U23 rider Markus Eibegger in similar cases. "Ullrich has been robbed of his chances in 2006". According to sport1.at the Swiss
federation is no longer responsible for Ullrich's case after Ullrich has returned his Swiss license in doing so, leaving the
UCI with the only chance to take diciplinary action against Ullrich in taking the case to the Court of Arbitration for
Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
