Ullrich told Cyclingheroes last week: "I have been robbed of something that I had fought hard for"

In a statement on his personal website Jan Ullrich said that he is training in Austria and Italy. Ullrich told janullrich.de: "In Austria the main focus was on general fitness and training sessions on the mountain bike."

In Italy the intensity of his training was increased and Ullrich trained with some of his friends and colleagues on his racing bike.  Ullrich said : "All beginnings are difficult, that is obvious. But it feels good to sit firmly in the saddle again and its fun to go to the limit in training. Our preparations move in all sections as planned. It is an open secret that there are talks with teams and sponsors, but nothing is decided yet."

Meanwhile Jan Ullrich fans are getting more and more upset that most riders who are allegedly linked with "Operacion Puerto" are allowed to ride again in the 2007 season, but Ullrich is still in a legal limbo. Fans of the former Olympic - and world champion started a petition on http://www.freie-fahrt-fuer-ulle.de/ in which they ask  the UCI and the Swiss cycling federation to allow Ullrich to race again. In the petition the fans write: "While the majority of riders involved in the so called „Operation Puerto“ are cleared by their federations and thus allowed to ride Jan Ullrich is still stuck in a legal limbo with no end in sight. The signatories to this petition ask all parties involved, first and foremost the UCI and Swiss Cycling, and furthermore ASO, Unipublic, and RCS to end the obstruction immediately and let Jan Ullrich ride again."

The petition concludes with: "The signatories are completely aware of the importance of the fight against doping. For this reason we ask the recipients of this petition that they revise existing doping regulations and establish transparent and effective procedures to be able to handle doping cases more efficiently and prevent future cases like Operation Puerto from turning into a desaster for all parties involved."

The petition on http://www.freie-fahrt-fuer-ulle.de/ was signed by more than 300 persons when Cyclingheroes received the press release of the Jan Ullrich fans.
